Alternative to FlowGPT
FlowGPT alternative: curated templates without a community feed
FlowGPT is a free community platform where anyone can publish prompts and AI "characters", with paid tiers for premium model access and extra AI memory. Its library is large and community-curated by votes rather than editorial review, and an account is needed to use most of the site. FlowGPT has been unavailable to UK users since 24 July 2025, when the UK's Online Safety Act came into effect — FlowGPT's own blog post cites the Act's age-verification and risk-assessment requirements as the reason. This is material if you're browsing from the UK.
How FlowGPT compares
| Feature | FlowGPT | This library |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free tier; paid tiers Plus US$14.99/month and Ultra US$24.99/month for extra "Flux" credits, more AI memory and faster access (third-party review, hands-on tested February 2026). A separate third-party listing (pricing last updated 1 September 2025) instead shows Free / Pro Lite US$50 / Pro US$200 plans priced by "AI words" — the two sources describe different plan structures, and flowgpt.com itself returned an access-denied response to our automated fetch. | Free, no account required. |
| Supported models | Free tier includes Llama 2 and a free version of Gemini; paid tiers unlock additional "featured models" that aren't listed in a static, published format (third-party review, tested February 2026). | Any AI model — copy the filled prompt to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other tool. |
| Login required | Yes — creating an account is required to use prompts and characters beyond casual browsing (third-party review, tested February 2026). | No login. Favourites are stored in your browser only. |
| Quality scoring | No computed quality score; content is surfaced by trending and community signals (trending lists, leaderboards) rather than an analyser. | Every template carries a computed PIS quality score from the Local Rules analyser, shown on the page. |
| Example outputs | Not stated publicly as a structured field — prompts are typically tried live in FlowGPT's own chat interface rather than shown with a worked example first. | Every template includes an example input, an example output and a "why it works" explanation. For image templates the example output is a written description of what a good result should look like, not an image the prompt actually generated. |
| Privacy / data handling | FlowGPT's privacy policy states it does not sell personal data to third parties, but prompts and profile information made public are visible to other users and stored on FlowGPT's servers. | The in-browser optimiser runs on Local Rules with no key and your prompt never leaves the browser, or you bring your own OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini API key and the browser calls that provider directly. |
Where FlowGPT is stronger
- A large, constantly updated community library, including roleplay "characters" and chat-style prompts that this library does not attempt to cover.
- Prompts can be tried immediately inside FlowGPT's own chat interface without copying them elsewhere.
- Community feedback (likes, comments) on individual prompts, which surfaces popularity signals this library does not track.
