Alternative to PromptPerfect
PromptPerfect alternative: a free prompt library and optimiser
PromptPerfect (built by Jina AI, now part of Elastic) closed on 1 September 2026. This is confirmed directly on PromptPerfect's own site: promptperfect.jina.ai now shows a closure banner and an FAQ answer stating "Following Jina AI's acquisition by Elastic in October 2025, PromptPerfect will no longer be available after September 1, 2026." Independent third-party reports add that new signups stopped in June 2026 and that user data was due to be deleted around 1 October 2026 — those two dates are third-party-reported, not stated on PromptPerfect's own site. If you can still reach your account, export your saved prompts as a precaution.
How PromptPerfect compares
| Feature | PromptPerfect | This library |
|---|---|---|
| Price | No longer sold. Before closure: Standard plan US$20/month, Premium plan US$100/month, with a 7-day free trial (Jina AI's March 2024 pricing announcement). | Free, no account required. |
| Supported models | Optimised prompts for GPT-4, Claude, Llama, Stable Diffusion and Midjourney (PromptPerfect's own FAQ). | Any AI model — copy the filled prompt to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other tool. |
| Login required | Was yes before closure — an account was required to use the optimiser and save prompts. | No login. Favourites are stored in your browser only. |
| Quality scoring | Not stated publicly — the official site described an "Interactive" optimiser and assistant but never described a visible quality score. | Every template carries a computed PIS quality score from the Local Rules analyser, shown on the page. |
| Example outputs | Not stated publicly on the official pages we could reach, before or after closure. | Every template includes an example input, an example output and a "why it works" explanation. For image templates the example output is a written description of what a good result should look like, not an image the prompt actually generated. |
| Privacy / data handling | Per PromptPerfect's own FAQ: users could export their data to their local device, or delete their data from PromptPerfect's servers, at any time. | The in-browser optimiser runs on Local Rules with no key and your prompt never leaves the browser, or you bring your own OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini API key and the browser calls that provider directly. |
Where PromptPerfect is stronger
- Offered an interactive optimiser assistant that iterated on a prompt conversationally, rather than a static template you fill in yourself.
- Offered free hosting to deploy an optimised prompt as a callable service, which this library does not.
Moving from PromptPerfect
- If you can still log in, export your saved prompts from Settings → Export Data as soon as possible — third-party reports put PromptPerfect's data-deletion date at around 1 October 2026.
- Paste an exported prompt into this library's prompt optimiser (no account needed) to check and refine it with Local Rules, or your own API key.
- Browse the prompt library at /prompts/ for a ready-made template close to what you were optimising, and use it as a starting structure instead of rebuilding from scratch.
- PromptPerfect's hosted "prompt as a service" deployment feature has no equivalent here — this library covers prompt writing and optimisation, not hosting a prompt as a callable service.
